Dodie’s First Ever Gumbo Cook-Off Benefiting Givingmas
Get ready to stir the pot, Rockwall! On Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 2–6 p.m., Dodie’s Cajun Diner at The Harbor will host its First Ever Gumbo Cook-Off, and we’re honored that Givingmas has been chosen as the charity beneficiary of this flavorful new tradition.
The event will bring together home cooks, foodies, and gumbo lovers for an afternoon filled with food, fun, and community. Contestants will compete for bragging rights, cash prizes, and the title of Rockwall’s best gumbo—with two chances to win: People’s Choice (voted on by attendees) and Judges’ Choice (selected by a panel).
Guests can purchase a spoon and ballot for just $10 to sample a variety of gumbos and cast their vote, all while supporting Givingmas families. Whether you’re tasting, voting, or competing, every bowl helps local families overcome barriers and build lasting stability.
